1. Content: What is the issue, need, idea or opportunity addressed by this project? The issue I am addressing in this project is: what it means to be African American and Afro-cuban, our similarities and our differences, and do we feel like we fit in with our community.
2. Form: What medium and techniques were used to embody the content? We are working with several medias. The strongest media is the voice and audio from the Afro-Cuban students and African American Students. Also a form of dissolving and or transitioning images to create what Cuba means.
3. Context: What are the circumstances and setting that frame our understanding of this project? The project started from a big event in history, the brand new ties of the US and Cuba. Creating this relationship at a country level allowed a space to explore what this means at a citizen level. I am exploring what it means to have African descendent in your blood and if we have similar stories.
4. Stakeholders: Who can affect or be affected by this project?Mostly African Americans and Afro-Cubans.
5. Audience or communities engaged: For whom and/or with whom was this project created? The project was created and made with both Afro-Cuban Students and African American students.
6. Engagement strategies: How were the stakeholders, audiences, and community members engaged in this project? How were the goals of the project advanced? I hope they engage in starting to build a stronger relationship with the US. I also hope to start a conversation about having similar stories. Getting people to talk.
7. Resources: What tangible or intangible resources were used to pursue the project's goals? The emails and words of the African American or Afro-Cuban students, the audio used to transcribe those words into one full text.
8. Goal: What are the project's objectives? Beginning to form the connection between people who have similar ancestry backgrounds.
9. Outcomes: What were the results and the impact of this project? Did they match the goals? The project is still in process! Excited to see what comes from it.
10. Values: What were this project's guiding values and/or core beliefs? To start a discussion with people who are in another country but similar at heart
