Jaron Crespi - Week 1
Questions:
Why does the fear of rejection by a person or community carry so much weight in how we act and carry ourselves?
How long does someone have to be living somewhere to be considered part of the community?
Can issues with identity be addressed without being offensive?
How/Why can the relationship between artist and audience be considered art?
How long have galleries existed?
Takeaways:
Engaging with the audience through performance transforms something that is in front of them yet intangible into a reality they can connect with.
It is important to be aware and considerate of the specific community I am engaging with.
Something that contrasted my experience is the broad stroking of people who identify with "the right" as being exclusionary.
Humbling the artists voice by elevating those of the collaborators is something that resonates with me.
It is obvious that through the psychological grooming of our society women tend to be more oriented toward care and mutuality. This is deception and something that should be addressed. Every person is made in the image and likeness of God and God is love. Love does not seek its own, in fact it counts the other more significant than themselves - regardless of the social/cultural/racial identification that has been given to them by society. Our potential as a people is realized in the person of who God is and should not limited by conforming to the lie of somebody we aren't.
