"ONE PLACE AFTER ANOTHER"

QUESTIONS
Was "public art" called "culture in action" created to educate or make a statement? or both?
(I guess as an artist I wonder a lot of the art made is to teach something or just make and if the artist got what they wanted with the audience or if they just don't care and its about making the art rather then the outcome and effect it has.)
What were the struggles with collaborating with other cultures and idea?
Also why stop only dressing HIV AIDS and homelessness, urban violence, sexism, homophobia why not expand into addressing more specific matters in other countries and such?
WHAT I LEARNED!
I learned that art doesn't just stop at an art exhibit it can move on to the streets!
That "public art" can be a new way in expressing problems going on in todays society or thoughts you have to speak to the community. From last year there was an art exhibit by artist Kara Walker in making these sugar sculptures of young black kids as slaves and it was powerful because of what it was made with and the exhibit being a old sugar factory, think of showing that art piece in the public of lets say one of the most conservative white "Racist" neighborhoods and the impact that would have. Think of even planting the sculpture infront of the whitehouse.
This struck me the most because as an artist with a performing piece going to Cuba thanks to Evelyn, I am for letting my art speak for me rather then getting into an argument or debate I just want people to take it in and interpret it in a way that they can't run away from the issue and have to face it there watching or seeing the work.
ART DOES SPEAK.
